We aren't sure if there have been tears after an episode before but there were after this one. We have an open conversation about the challenges and changes in our lives. And we make a couple of big announcements. Thankfully, we have a model to help us think through these things!
Have you ever felt restless or discontent with your work? Even if there are aspects of your work you love, there may be a time when you come to one conclusion - it is time to do something different. In this episode, we walk through our Reframe Your Life model and explore how it applied to a decision Jo-Anne has made to take on a full time job.
Changes have a way of rippling through our life. A change of job can mean a change in another area. Jo-Anne recognized along with her decision to go back to work full time her time commitments would change. We invest a lot of time on our podcast. We both allow several hours each week to record, edit, promote, post and send out our newsletter. Being self-employed makes it possible. Jo-Anne has decided to step away from Reframe Your Life.
This episode is the last one we are recording together as co-hosts. Although Jo-Anne will be back as a guest once she settles in to her new role. If you listened to Episode 78 (Reframe Your Spirituality) you are aware that Sandy has also been going through a pivot in her work. She's focusing more on working with women to support them in their spirituality. Along with that shift she was thinking about starting a separate podcast to go deeper into that type discussion with women.
When we started this podcast, we talked about how it would end (a good practice when starting any type of partnership). We agreed that if one of us wanted to leave and the other wanted to continue on they could continue Reframe Your Life. After some discussion, Sandy has decided to continue with the podcast but take it in a slightly different direction.
Sandy's update: Like all changes, we never know exactly how they will unfold. Clarity comes from action. I have already booked the first guests. Reframe Your Life is going to be reframed. And I think you will like it! The newsletter will continue and it will come through my email address (firstname.lastname@example.org). I'm hoping you'll give me a few episodes to find my footing in this new direction before you decide if this direction interests you. Please continue to provide feedback (on iTunes and by email) and guest suggestions. I'm taking the month of June off to redo the website to reflect the changes and to record some episodes. I'll be back in July with Reframe Your Life 2.0
Working together has been on the most fun and rewarding endeavours we have both experienced. It has been a journey that has taught us a lot and bonded our friendship. Thank you so much for your support. See you in July!

For a New Position
May your new work excite your heart,
Kindle in your mind a creativity
To journey beyond the old limits
Of all that has become wearisome.
May this work challenge your toward
New frontiers that emerge
As you begin to approach them,
Calling forth from you the full force
And depth of your undiscovered gifts.
May the work fit the rhythms of your soul,
Enabling you to draw from the invisible
New ideas and a vision that will inspire.
Remember to be kind
To those who work for you,
Endeavour to remain aware
Of the quiet world
That lives behind each face.
Be fair in your expectations,
Compassionate in your criticism,
May you have the grace of encouragement
To awaken the gift in the other's heart,
Building in them the confidence
To follow the call of the gift.
May you come to know that work
Which emerges from the mind of love
Will have beauty and form.
May this new work be worthy
Of the energy of your heart
And the light of your thought.
May your work assume
A proper space in your life;
Instead of owning or using you,
May it challenge and refine you,
Bring you every day further
Into the wonder of your heart.
